Growing up, I was always that kid who was into sports and outdoor adventures. I loved the thrill, the open air, and the challenge of pushing myself physically. But over the last few years, life, work, and responsibilities kind of took over, and I haven’t been as active as I used to be. That said, I’ve recently started easing back into it, and it’s been refreshing to reconnect with nature and adventure again.
So far, I’ve done a few things that brought back that adrenaline rush and sense of freedom. One of my most memorable experiences was visiting Grand Canyon National Park. Just standing on the edge of something so vast and ancient makes you feel both small and alive at the same time. I’ve also gone on a few trekking trails over the past couple of years, nothing too extreme, but enough to remind me how much I love being out in the wild.
Disneyland may not count as an outdoor adventure in the traditional sense, but hey, it’s got walking, rides, and a lot of energy! Aside from that, I’ve tried surfing, which was much harder than it looks, and mountain biking, which I found both exhilarating and exhausting in the best way.
Out of everything, trekking and camping are what I find myself returning to the most. There’s something incredibly grounding about spending time in the forest or up in the mountains, disconnected from screens and surrounded by nature. I try to complete at least one or two solid treks every year, nothing overly intense, but enough to feel refreshed and reconnected.
Looking ahead, I have skydiving and kayaking on my list for 2025. Skydiving both excites and terrifies me, but it’s been a dream for a while, and I feel like it’s time to cross it off the list. Kayaking, especially in a serene natural setting like a lake or river, feels like the perfect blend of adventure and peace. I can’t wait to try both.
I’d love to hear from others who are into outdoor adventures. What kind of activities have you tried, rock climbing, zip-lining, scuba diving, snowboarding? How would you rate those experiences on a scale of 1 to 10 in terms of thrill, enjoyment, or how much they pushed you out of your comfort zone?
Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or someone just dipping your toes back in like me, I’m always curious to hear what gets your heart racing or helps you feel truly alive. Drop your favorites below, maybe I’ll find some new ideas for my own list!
